(More customer reviews)Reviews on this model (Aimshot 8268) are fairly sparse, so I took a big gamble in purchasing one. I paid just under $115 for it on another site, but decided to write a review for it on Amazon since Amazon's prices for this model are currently the best.
The laser feels good on my Smith and Wesson M&P 9. Although I have not taken the laser through its paces, I do not feel as if the weight is noticeable. I do, however, weigh around 190 lbs and have shot many other pistols before.
In terms of installation, it was a breeze once I realized that I wanted to use the rail. This laser sight can also fit on a trigger guard also, but installation is much more difficult. This could be due to the fact that this is my first laser on my first pistol.
I had originally planned to find a cheap green laser after a range outing where every single shot was three inches left. There was no way that was going to allow that to happen again as I purchased a laser to help me improve trigger control.Quite honestly, the flashlight exceeds my expectations. I had figured it was going to be a cheap LED. But it isn't too bad, and its bright enough to see in the dark. It's not a maglite and I don't know if people will expect it to function like one.
It seems sturdy enough, Ill take it to the range soon. What I must say is that the controls are very cumbersome. The support hand (for a right handed shooter) must be brought off to engage the laser, while on the other side I also must stretch or rearrange my grip to engage the light. Perhaps if people have larger hands, it would work better, but this is more of a range laser rather than a home defense enhancement.
