(More customer reviews)This NEBO "Tactical Laser+Flashlight" combo for shotguns is a well designed device that works nicely on a Mossberg 500 Persuader, mounted on the extended tube. Since this is being used on a pump shotgun, I opted not to use the included pressure switch so as not to risk the cord becoming tangled in the mechanism. Here are my observations:
What's Included:
* Main Unit
* Shotgun Mount
* Pressure Switch (use is optional)
* 3 AAA Batteries
Installation:
1) Unscrew the end-cap and remove the battery cartridge
2) Insert the 3 AAA batteries into the cartridge (2 up and 1 down, hint: the (-) of the batteries go against the spring)
3) Select the end-cap you want (regular or pressure switch) and attach
* Test the unit at this point to make sure the batteries are correctly installed and switches work
4) Loosen the clever thumb-screw so it is big enough to fit on the barrel or magazine tube
5) Place the mount where wanted on the barrel or magazine tube (removed plastic spacer to fit) and tighten thumb-screw, locking in place when done
6) OPTIONAL - If you are using the pressure switch, run the pad to a convenient place (usually on the fore-grip) and attach with the included Velcro strip
Pros -
+ Quality; this is a well made, mostly metal unit
+ Versatile; has four modes, including flashlight, laser, flashlight and laser, and flashlight strobe (don't know why I would want to use that mode though)
+ Easy to Install; no tools needed
Cons -
- Must cycle through the various modes to get to the one you want, in the order listed above
- Main switch is basically a rubberized stud and is a little hard to press
- Not possible to adjust laser, so mine points slightly off center when mounted
This works well for my needs, as the positives outweigh the negatives.
