(More customer reviews)I couldn't be more than pleased with my PD30. Actually, I couldn't wait for dark to try it out. I took my dog for a walk around my marina and the light from this little thing reflected off buoys and buildings across the lake. I'm a boater and the SOS mode is a nice touch, but the main reason I bought this was for its strobe function.
Instead of carrying a firearm or Taser, which are prohibited at my workplace, I carry this. We carry our night deposits from the store and that walk to the car is the worst part. This unit WILL and DOES disorient people to the point where I could get to safety if approached. My co-workers who spent hundreds+ on firearms laughed at me and I put them to the test. Even in broad daylight, my cynical volunteers were taken aback by the stunning, blinding light and changed their tune. It's about the same length as my Leatherman tool, so both fit on my belt with no discomfort. This thing is smaller than I thought and still can't believe the light it puts out!
The instructions were not very clear on the different settings. It does have different light intensities by not only turning the bezel, but also by tapping the thumb cap.
This is worth every penny.
